Senior Designer Women’s ready-to-wear needed for a well-known, premium denim brand, east coast. Join a talented and creative team that produces inspired, casual upmarket women’s fashion.  You’ll be a part of an iconic brand and passionate design team that celebrates creativity. We’re looking for someone who can deliver  innovative and compelling concepts for women’s designs with a focus on bottoms and outerwear.

What You’ll Be Doing:

​

• Conceptualize, collaborate and design women’s assortments, starting from inception and trend research through final Production handoff

• Create innovative and inspired design sketches using Illustrator

• Design concepts to meet the women’s "Assortment Plan" and margin requirements

• Build partnerships and key relations with cross functional teams such as Product Development and Merchandising

• Research seasonal trends, themes, colors, raw materials, non-denim and denim, styling and trims

• Incorporate fit session notes while maintaining style and design integrity

• Ensure design and final product is consistent with lifestyle brand identity, design goals and profitability

• Create concept and trend boards for seasonal themes, including fashion outerwear

• Create embroidery and CAD layout

• Supply all needed communication and information for hand over to the Product Development team

• Provide status updates and adhere to calendar timelines and delivery

 

Success Skills:

​

• Preferred bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Merchandising, Product Development,  Graphic Design or similar. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

• Minimum of 10+ years of design experience with women’s apparel, including recent experience with easy bottoms, and or a variety of outerwear.

• A combination of various fabric knowledge & trim, luxury fabrics, some denim

• Ability to generate concepts and participate in a highly collaborative design process

• CAD proficiency, advanced Photoshop and Illustrator with flat & Illustrator sketching

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, fluid team environment.

• Ability to give and take constructive criticism to elevate design

• Excellent communication skills via emails, in-person or online presentations, chats, etc.
