Merchandising Buyer, Accents

A motivated omni-channel Merchandising Buyer is needed for a premium apparel and lifestyle brand to select and curate accessories and décor. Be a hands-on contributor with ongoing creativity while adhering to business assortment plans. We need an innovative, adventurous risk-taker to select product, lead trends and create in-store mock ups. Focus on exclusive products, artisan goods and quality.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Relay storytelling and connect a range of products that align with lifestyle needs through accents, women’s accessories and decor.

  • Builds constructive relationships and bridge Creative, Marketing, Planning and PD.

  • Follow and spot lifestyle trends. Identify, select and source vendors for brand appropriate, inspired and exclusive assortments for e-commerce and retail consumers.

  • Maintain relationships, negotiate and resolve issues with domestic and global vendors.

  • Understand and capitalize on customer wants and needs to identify opportunities.

  • Adhere to merchandising guidelines and defined category plans while keeping with timelines.

  • Align strategies and plans that ensure product performance, sales, healthy margins and profitability.

  • Review and leverage post-mortem sales analysis to improve assigned category performance across all channels.

  • Plan, schedule, and participate in buying trips to tradeshows, store visits and trunk shows.

  • Create mock store set ups and oversee imaging of photo layout with product descriptions

  • Competitively maintain and improve the overall return rate. Act as a customer advocate for product quality.


Success Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Design, Textiles, Marketing. Additional experience will be considered in lieu of education.

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a retail merchandising or buying capacity

  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel; ability to update reports and review sales analysis

  • Must have some previous category experience in home décor (off-price or full-price)

  • Should have experience with vendor relations. Global sourcing experience is a bonus.

  • Solid communication skills. Drive your point-of-view while collaborating with others.

  • Experience creating and presenting cohesive product stories that align with planning goals

  • Ability to work onsite. Location for this role is onsite in Burbank, CA 91505
